Tips On Handling and Taking Care of Your Vape Device

As much as you love vaping. It’s essential to check on your vape device now and then to make sure you are making the most out of your vaping experience. This also avoids potential device malfunctioning. After all, if you have a vape device, you must learn to look after it so that it looks after you. And at the risk of sounding cliché, the idea, ‘treat others how you want to be treated’ also applies to the things you own. If a vape device is a means to achieve a smoke-free life, then that means has to be appropriately used and handled. Maintaining a vape device might seem like a difficult and time-consuming task to perform, but it’s not that hard. And once you learn it, repeating the processes and being mindful of the hazards becomes easier.

Frugality and Ripple Effect In Vaping Devices:

Everyone wants their vape devices to reach their full potential and run their course. Additionally, we all want to save time and money. But the prospect of saving money concerning the maintenance of your vape device often ends up producing much more damage. So, for example, if you keep sleeping on the cleanliness of your device, it would end up producing gunk in your coil, and as a consequence, your whole coil will end up being destroyed.

But many of us are entirely unaware of this ripple effect. And it doesn’t matter if you’re using the best premium vape juices in your device when the machine that runs it is not performing optimally. Disposable e-cigarettes are low maintenance because there’s nothing special to look after, and they don’t last long and can’t be reused. But while all disposables are easy to use and cheaply made, there are certainly better options regarding flavour and consistency.

Maintenance of Vape Mods:

When it comes to vape mods, a lot of things have to be taken into account in order to optimize your vaping experience. And one of the most important things is the wattage of your device. People usually think that vaping at high wattage will give them a more refined flavour and thicker smoke clouds. But, what they forget is that vaping isn’t some kind of contest about who’s producing the most clouds.

Its primary function is to help people curb their addiction to nicotine and tar and not get head spins. If you crank up your wattage beyond the limits, it would only end up burning your cotton and producing harsh throat hits and bad flavour. You must always check your device’s compatibility and must give it the wattage it needs to produce vapors. Different e-liquids have different wattage requirements.

Changing The Coil:

When the flavour of your e-juice starts to give you a burnt taste, it is an indication that your coil needs to be changed. A damaged coil will also give you dry hits. But before doing that, make sure to always prime your coil as it adds up to the coil life and gives you flavourful hits. Concurrently, there are certain ingredients in e-liquids that can produce gunk inside the coil; hence if the gunk starts amassing, it’s better to replace the coil.

If you want to clean your coil, make sure to use distilled water instead of tap water because hard water can damage your coil. A vape that hasn’t been cleaned in a long time could create health issues. Two of the main contents of your e-liquids, namely PG and VG, are said to have antibacterial properties. But the atomizer still gets dirty and could carry diseases.

Changing The Batteries:

Pod devices need proper maintenance and care, which includes a little more than cleaning on a day-to-day basis. Unfortunately, most people are ill-inform when it comes to batteries. They remain complacent with the condition of their batteries as long as the device meets their needs. But it’s really important to check on batteries and look for nicks and tears on the battery wraps every now and then. If you spot a gap in the metal, you should always rewrap your battery. And if your battery has a dent, it should replace immediately. Don’t let your battery fully die down before plugging into a charger, and always charge it with a separate external charger. Make sure to discharge it when it reaches its full charging potential, and don’t leave it to charge overnight.

Handling and Storing E-Liquids:

Most people who use vape mods usually like to have a collection of e-liquids at their disposal. So they can try different flavours at ease whenever they want and have a variety to select from. But when you can only use one flavour at a time, and the rest of them have to be aside somewhere, where? The answer is simple, and storing your e-liquids is not a difficult thing to do. You only need to be mindful of two or three things. Firstly, you must protect them from direct exposure to the sun because sunlight can disrupt their composition. The optimal temperature for storing e-liquid falls somewhere between 32 to 37 degrees.

Most people like to put them in refrigerators, but not all e-liquids are to be kept inside the refrigerator. It’s safe to keep e-liquids that contain a higher amount of VG in a fridge. But those that have a higher amount of PG must not be kept inside a refrigerator. The reason is that putting them in the refrigerator would thicken them. Using thicker liquid would automatically end up producing gunk in your coil and also destroying the coil altogether. Oxidation can also ruin your e-liquids. Make sure to keep them in an airtight container because air exposure could affect the flavour and quality of your e-liquids.

Sometimes, e-liquid could turn thin in their consistency, making them leak out of your device. The thinning of e-liquid is a common problem that most people run into without having any idea why it happens. The culprit here is heat. Using cheap fast chargers, overcharging your device, and using unfit chargers could all lead to heating up your device and leaks out. Also, other user errors like forgetting to turn off your device and throwing it in your bag can also heat up the juice and alter its consistency. Hence you must protect your device from getting heat up, including protecting the e-liquids from direct sun exposure.

Final Note:

Now that you know the basic steps in vaping, which is to take care of your vape device and e-liquids. So, you are all set to step into the world of vapers. But it’s important to be mindful of your consumption patterns and habit. If your goal is to quit cigarettes, you should work towards that goal. You should treat it as a means to achieve an end, not the other way around. Vaping is by far the safest route to quit smoking. It is extremely easy to measure and adjust your nicotine dose. You can even get your desired nicotine concentration in your e-liquids, and replace your device to consume less juice.

You shouldn’t work up on your nicotine intake, at least in the beginning. Because if you are not getting enough of it, you might relapse into smoking cigarettes. But once you become comfortable with your routine, you can slowly begin to taper off your nicotine consumption. Just go easy and at your own pace.
